To end my day today, I got to go bowling with a new group of students visiting from Denmark. To say it got competitive fast would be an understatement! We played for two rounds, taking a break between turns to eat pizza and get to know each other better. While there were no girls on the trip this time, the boys were very talkative and entertaining.

Today, I got to attend our school’s guest speaker, Dr. Ulcé Blackstock. She came to discuss her career in medicine and the deep inequities that still exist in the U.S. healthcare system, as well as the different aspects of her book "Legacy: A Black Physician Reckons with Racism in Medicine". Today was quite the eventful day! After class, I hung out with the BOCES Students (Students who are enrolling in a Specialized High School Pathway to help them earn college credits). Today, my classmates and I had the opportunity to visit Yale University and experience what it’s like for students there! While the weather wasn't the best, I got to take a tour of the campus and have lunch with official Yale Students. All of whom were in different majors and had vastly different experiences, the admission coordinators also joined us during the forum to explain the transfer process and answer any questions the students could not.

On October 8th, 2025, I attended an interactive workshop hosted by HVCC alumni Ehdoh Kyi and Salah Harris, both from S&S Capital Consulting. The two had demonstrated and given examples of numerous ways to better understand and apply communication etiquette, focusing mainly on networking and making connections with people. On September 29th, 2025, I attended a vision board luncheon hosted by Chelsey Wolcott. The goal of the event was to motivate us all to create our own vision board for our future, not only at college but also after college. Before officially joining the Honors College, I, along with other members in my cohort, attended a signing ceremony to celebrate all of us committing to the program. At this ceremony, we all got to sign a banner, which essentially initiated us into the Honors Program. Before and after the ceremony, I got to talk with and meet many of my now classmates, which was the start of many friendships.
