Speaker Series: Dr. Ulcé Blackstock

Today, I got to attend our school’s guest speaker, Dr. Ulcé Blackstock. She came to discuss her career in medicine and the deep inequities that still exist in the U.S. healthcare system, as well as the different aspects of her book "Legacy: A Black Physician Reckons with Racism in Medicine". I am overjoyed to have been an attendee for this guest speaker and to hear about her experience as a Black physician, since her experiences may soon be my own reality. At the end of her talk, I even got to talk with her for a bit too, until some other students wished to talk with her instead and ended our conversation short.
