Rock and Fossil Fun Fair

Today, a few classmates and I got the opportunity to help the New York State Museum with their Rock and Fossil Fun Fair. A fair made to young kids to “Mine for minerals, forage for fossils, experiment with a river replica, and more” while also being able to take rocks of their own to the Museum and have them identified!

I was in the Ice Age Section, where I answered any questions kids had and even taught them about what the Ice Age was like! Did you know that the last major ice age began over two million years ago and only ended roughly eleven thousand years ago? In retrospect, that’s not very long ago!
