While attending Hudson Valley Community College in the Honors Program, I have been exposed to an immense number of experiences that have pushed me both academically and personally, helping me grow and shape myself into the person I desire to be. Through advanced coursework, research expectations, and cohort collaborations, I’ve been able to strengthen my critical thinking, communication, and confidence in my ability to better my future and achieve my goals.
Honors Composition I
Through this course, I was able to strengthen my writing abilities, all while having creative freedom to write what I wanted within guidelines.
Honors Exploring the Human Mind
With this course, I was able to explore the human mind in theory and cultural context, what the human mind is like, and define what it means to be a human. All while also seeing how heavily AI affects the world around us across all fields of study, with a particular focus on medical and psychological fields.
Topics in Biology - The Gene
Biology – The Gene is a program that focuses on the significance of genes and DNA in our everyday life, simply learning how it all affects us in different ways depending on our genes.
Honors College Forum
A required course that all honors students must take, it thoroughly informed me about all the student services my campus offers and the benefits of being in Phi Theta Kappa and the National and Regional Honors Council.
Elementary Statistics
Statistics is heavily prevalent in the psychology field, and with this course, I learned the basics and how to properly use it in my daily life.
First Aid
This course provided basic knowledge in first aid techniques and the knowledge that will be necessary for handling any emergency situations.
